Globe Telecom chief information officer Carlo Malana is taking on a new challenge.
Malana has been appointed as chief executive officer of KarmanEdge Inc., a joint venture between the Ayala-led telco and ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC).
KarmanEdge is a subsidiary of Globe which houses the carved-out data center business.
Malana, who has been Globe’s CIO since 2020, will be replaced by Raul Macatangay effective May 1.
Macatangay, a rehire from five years ago, is currently VP of Globe’s financial control team. He has more than 25 years in leadership roles in information technology, technology risk consulting, system implementation, business transformation, customer intelligence and analytics, marketing, research, finance and enterprise risk management.
As CIO, Macatangay will work with management and the different teams in information systems, infrastructure technology services, and enterprise architecture to deliver their key mandates while enabling the business to achieve its commitments.
