A Wednesday noon fire hit the decades-old Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
Firefighters raised the first alarm over the iconic Big Dome owned by the bilyonaryo Araneta-Roxas clan. Initial reports from the Bureau of Fire Protection said the fire started about 11:49 a.m., which was placed under control about an hour later.
BFP personnel later on declared fire https://www.bilyonaryo.com/2022/04/20/fire-hits-araneta-coliseum-disrupts-pba-games/out at 1:08 p.m., with a ceiling fire cited as the cause of the blaze. No one was reported injured, although the ongoing 3×3 game of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) had to be stopped.
PBA management eventually decided to postpone the scheduled PBA Finals Game 6 between Ginebra and Meralco on the same day to make way for clearing operations.
