‘Sana ginulpi na kita nung nasa HS tayo!’: Jinggoy Estrada threatens Ateneo batchmate who won’t back Senate bid

A supposed threat made by former senator Jinggoy Estrada to his former batchmate in Ateneo De Manila High School (AHS) is making the rounds online barely a week before the May 9 polls.

Based on screenshots seen by Bilyonaryo, Estrada told football enthusiast Jose Prats that he should’ve beaten the latter up when they were still in high school.

“Bastos ka pala hayop ka! Yan pala ang itinuro sa iyo ng Ateneo! Shame on you! Sana pala ginulpi na kita nung nasa HS pa tayo eh!” Estrada told Prats in a Viber message.

The reason for Estrada’s anger? Prats bluntly told their batchmates in a Viber group that he won’t support the former senator’s Senate comeback bid.

Estrada had asked members of the AHS Batch 1980 Viber group for support to help him clinch a Senate seat.

“My numbers in all the reputable survey firms are quite encouraging except in Pulse Asia where I was ranked #11. Kaya kailangan pa ng konting ‘push.’ Having said that, once elected again in the Senate, rest assured that I will enact bills that will benefit the greater majority of our people. Thanks so much and I hope to solicit your valuable votes on May 9,” Estrada added, ending with OBF, short for One Big Fight — the school’s battlecry.

In the same Viber group, Prats said he won’t vote for Estrada.

“I do not believe in your promises nor the false promises being given by your party of jr-sira. And that is an understatement,” he said. “I believe in the moral values instilled in me by the Ateneo. Values that formed me as a Catholic/Christian.”

Prats said he would continue campaigning for the Robredo-Pangilinan tandem and their senatorial slate.

Estrada’s classmate seems to have no regrets that screenshots of his exchange with Estrada have become viral online.

Asked whether the screenshots were true, Prats said according to another Viber message seen by Bilyonaryo: “Yup, he sent it later in the afternoon. I first only sent it to my classmates and agreed not to circulate but mukhang lumabas. Just shows his character.”
