Congratulations in order: Foreign envoys laud PH polls led by Marcos Jr

The international community has congratulated the Philippines for holding successful elections, with the European Union looking forward to working with presumptive president Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Members of the foreign diplomatic community have sent congratulatory messages, saying the conduct of the polls was laudable.

“Congratulations, Philippines!,” said the European Union delegation as it “commends the Philippines for conducting a peaceful, free, and fair democratic elections.”

Partial, unofficial tally from 98% of precincts nationwide showed a landslide win for the tandem of Bongbong Marcos, Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, both cornering majority votes for the presidential and vice presidential races.

“#EUinthePhilippines looks forward to working with the incoming administration for the next six years and foster closer EU-Philippines relations,” it added.

The embassies of Australia and Japan are satisfied as well, seeing the Monday polls as an illustration of a healthy democracy.
